BOATING ON HORN POND

Boating has long been a favorite activity at Horn Pond. Be aware that motor boats are not allowed. That is any powered boat that uses gasoline or any petroleum product is banned. You can use an electric battery powered craft. If you use the Lake Avenue boat launch, you will have to take your boat out of the water by 8:00PM since the access gates at the parking lot are closed after that time. Also help prevent the spread of pest aquatic plants. Always clean off your boat, keel, trailer, oars, propeller and anything else that you take in and out of the water. Do this before you enter the pond and again after you remove your equipment from the pond.

The history of boating, canoeing, and crew races are well documented. In the late 1800's a popular boating and cycle club stood on the shores of current day Ice House Park.
